CDCP Eligibility Criteria
Are You Eligible for the Canadian Dental Care Plan?
You May Be Eligible If:
- You are a Canadian resident
- You don’t have private dental insurance
- Your adjusted family net income is under $90,000
- You and your spouse or common-law-partner filed your tax returns in Canada last year, so your family income has been assessed

Once you’re approved and are officially a member of the CDCP, you can begin making the most out of the benefits it offers. The CDCP will pay for part of the cost of a number of oral healthcare services, most without the need for pre-authorization, but occasionally, pre-authorization will be necessary. The amount covered will be determined by your income and may include full or partial cost-sharing. Our team can help you determine this before treatment. Here is a list of some of the covered services:
- Routine dental exams and checkups (including emergency exams)
- Professional cleanings
- X-rays
- Fillings and basic restorative dentistry
- Tooth extractions
